Introduction:
Current era have higher impact on humans daily lives by linking them with internet. The vast share of that communication based on digital data and vast volumes generated from several sources including Internet documents, social media, smart mobile devices, sensory data and Big Science extra resulted in what is referred to as “Big Data”. The management of such huge data in terms of common sharing and providing access timely and safely becomes one main challenge. The emerging applications providing solutions for this big data challenge along with the revolution in database technologies have transformed the way organizations manage and use their data.
Web intelligence is an emerging area of application of business intelligence, business analytics and predictive modeling on big data sources such as booming social media, sensory data and mobile devices, in order to enhance the competitive advantage of organizations. Among emerging technologies linked with big data and web intelligence are cloud computing, parallel computing, no-SQL, map-reduce, etc.  Current trends and future directions are having high importance in big data and web intelligence applications such as natural language processing, personalized medicines, sentiment mining, machine translation, etc. But it still needs to be more considered, for getting more accurate and precise results by applying new trends and techniques including merging the concepts of both.
Objective of the Book:
The ultimate objectives of this volume is to provide the academic and industrial  communities with recent advances in development, application and impact of  new big-data platforms  and technologies for exploiting floods of big data sources.
This editing book has the dual objective. The first objective is to encourage more research in big data and web intelligence technologies. The second objective is to publish the best research being conducted today. Specifically, we seek to explore how, given its current stage of development big data and web intelligence applications and innovations.
Book outline and strategy:
We will follow the following strategy to edit this book. We decided to split its contents into three parts: The first part is to specify it very strictly about big data, basing on personal invitations. The second part is to specify about web intelligence and leave the third part open to general chapter submissions including merging of big data and web intelligence. Thus, this book could combine three objectives
    • introducing big data and its perspectives
    • introducing web intelligence and its perspectives
    • Exploring and illustrating the current and future trends that combine big data and web intelligence.

Target Audience:
This book would serve a broad audience including researchers, academicians, students and working professional in the field of business analysis, business analytics manufacturing, health, environmental services, government, defense and networking companies.
